This .925 Sterling Silver is plated with Rhodium to make it tarnish resistant - a fabulous feature! Rhodium is one of the fine metals in the Platinum family. The metal color (a blue/grey) differs from regular Sterling Silver (which appears more of a yellowish tone and will oxidize/tarnish). The Rhodium Sterling Silver is indistinguishable when side by side with White Gold or Platinum.

Sterling Silver plated with Rhodium requires different care than regular Sterling Silver - do not put Rhodium (or Platinum, White Gold, or Yellow Gold) in a liquid silver dip, it will have the opposite effect and you will permanently blacken your piece.
