LI Kitties is a Long Island (LI), NY based no kill 501 c3 non profit cat shelter that is so remarkably different from any other shelter. LI Kitties runs a super clean facility. Their volunteers give so much love and attention - and it shows in the animals. The kittens are all very sweet, playful, and affectionate!

I just adopted "Bella" (formerly known as "Nadia" at the shelter) from LI Kitties, and my children and I adore her! The other shelters I visited beforehand had cats alone in cages all day with a sort of institutional indifference to our presence - I was not looking for a cat that was going to ignore us. Our Bella has been an affectionate, funny mush pie to everyone since the day we brought her home!

LI Kitties is a home based shelter, with a lot of great volunteers who hand bottle feed all the kittens, and give them lots of socialization and play time - with people and the other cats and kittens! It took just one week at home for our Bella to decide our large golden retriever dog was sort of ok, and with 2 more days they bonded and are now best friends and playmates. So delighted with our Bella, we wanted to give back.
